Chiropractic Care

WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?
“Chiropractic is a health care discipline which emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery.” – The Association of Chiropractic Colleges
The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health. In addition, Doctors of Chiropractic recognize the value and responsibility of working in cooperation with other health care practitioners when in the best interest of the patient.”
WHY DID I VISIT A CHIROPRACTOR?

Surfing and skating has always been a way of life for me, along with competing in swimming, water polo, and martial arts, from a very young age. I was not under chiropractic care throughout my adolescent years and sustained injuries from these activities, often pushing through the discomfort because I thought that was all apart of the process.
(*Injuries are part of the process, but the inability to adapt/heal optimally should not be.)
These injuries created certain patterns of adaption within my body, which manifested into shoulder issues, hip issues and other nagging aches/pains towards my undergraduate career. It was not until I was applying to medical school, when I first saw a chiropractor and received a chiropractic adjustment. The adjustment, along with the education I received from my visit, allowed me to continue to do what I loved, and perform at a high level. Having experienced the differences I felt when I was under consistent chiropractic care versus when I was not, shaped my out look on health care. It shaped it so much that it ultimately lead me to change my career path from aspiring to become a Medical Doctor, to pursue becoming Doctor of Chiropractic.
WHO DO YOU SERVE?
I serve the person who wishes to live life to its fullest and highest expression of themselves. The surfer who wants to continue ripping as an old man. The skater who wants to keep her body in tune from all those falls so she can keep competing in the contest and not be in pain. The professional athlete who wants to be on the top of their game and not worried about preventable injuries. The father who wishes to be able to play with his kids more. The mother who wishes to be able to be that super mom for her family, while holding down her full time job. That child who wishes to grow up healthy and be a professional athlete.
I serve these people. I serve my community. And with the empowerment of individuals to take their health into their own hands, we will have higher functioning members of society, positively adding to it as a whole.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT IN THE FIRST FEW VISITS?
First Visit : History and Exams
Upon your first visit with me at LCCW Health Center, we will thoroughly go over your paperwork and review your history. We will then perform a complete chiropractic screening, assessing you from head to toe, along with relevant orthopedic and neurological evaluation. If x-rays are necessary, we will then take x-rays. This will conclude the first visit.
After I have analyzed your x-rays and considered your subjective/objective findings from the exams, I will have your care plan developed. This care plan will be reviewed and approved by my mentor Doctor, insuring you safe and effective care.
Second Visit: Review of Findings and First adjustment
With your return on the second visit, we will conduct a Review of Findings (ROF) to bring you up to speed about what we have found, along with what the plan is to help you. Once agreeing to the care plan, we will get you underway for your first chiropractic adjustment!
Third Visit: Carry Out Your Care Plan
Once we are under way with your care, we will follow your care plan that has been specifically laid out for you. The journey is upward and onward! However, it is up to you to adhere to the recommendations for optimal results. Re-evaluations will also be conducted to track the progress of your care.
